Lies which are commonly accepted as the TRUTH

At times I get deeply get fascinated by human psychology.

As we observe social trends, are people really conscious about the choices that they are making? As I ponder over this, I realise that people at so many times accept the truth without ever questioning them! What we believe maybe a truth but at times it may not be. An opinion becomes a belief, it then becomes a culture, and then when passed to generations, it becomes a tradition. What possibly the masses think is the truth may rarely be one. A beautiful quote by George S. Patton “If everyone is thinking the same, it is quite possible, that no one is thinking.” It’s simple to follow each other, as we perceive security in numbers.

Happiness is everything-is it really? If something makes me happy, should I prioritise that, even over the needs of the society or the family or my responsibilities? Doesn’t sometimes character, ethics, morality and achievement a priority? If partying makes me happy, I do that very often without realising the long term effects of it!

Money isn’t important- we are lying to ourselves and diminishing the value of an important commodity. Its only said when one doesn’t have enough of it, it makes one feel good about saying so. People who don’t have enough money, aren’t always happy and suffer. By saying that they feel better about their own poor financial choices.

Everybody deserves the same- why should then a person learn to make any sacrifices? If all participants win the trophy, then where is the edge to that person who gave that extra push and ran that extra mile! This will bring down the productivity of a nation. A hard wired person should deserve more over others.

What we feel is the truth- may not be the fact. Things at many times are made up in head. We hate a person, think bad, but that may not be the truth. Our feelings can’t surpass the logical thinking. Don’t package your feelings as truth.

Education is academic- Only a professional and academic knowledge may not always be termed as knowledge. A person with tertiary and professional knowledge may not possess self-awareness, managing finance, emotional intelligence etc

There is no god- It is debatable divine intervention does exist. Where does our consciousness come from, why are we called social animals? Architecture, music, art, where do they come from?
